Lane Keeping Assist is not a substitute for safe driving practices, but is a supplemental assist only. Avoid putting objects on the dashboard that may reflect light or images onto the system camera area. Since it "sees" the lane markings using a camera in the upper windshield area, it is imperative this area be clear and free of blockage such as stickers, dirt, snow, tinting material, markings and labels. It also may not function on very rough roads, when walls, curbs or concrete barriers are close by, or if following another car too closely. It cannot function if the lane markings cannot be seen clearly, if the lines are faded, or during dusk without headlights on, with snow, rain, sleet, dust, leaves or standing water on road, sudden changes in brightness such as shadows, tunnel exits/entrances, low sunlight angle causing reflections, multiple lane markings or criss-crossed lines, tar crack sealer and cracked or broken road surfaces. It functions when it is able to detect painted lane markings. But I feel like it’s going to work!) And isn’t that just the best part of buying new clothes? Thinking up impossible outfits! Here’s to making them all a reality this fall.Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) will not work under all circumstances. (The most insane one features baggy tan ribbed Nike shorts and vintage floral-print Manolo Blahnik mules. I’ve already started putting together outfits in my head with The Shirt. Men and women wear the same Commission pieces with equal aplomb and effortlessness they seem less like models styled for a collection and more just well-dressed people you encounter while walking around the city. Is it a coincidence, or did they burrow in my subconscious all those months ago? The Shirt (I think we can call it that now) tucked into belted high-rise flared jeans The Shirt worn under a boxy jacket and over a silver sequined skirt (perhaps the other must-have piece from their collection) and paired with cowboy boots. Now, revisiting the collection images, it’s uncanny how much their fall collection feels like it mirrors my exact current approach to dressing. When I first saw the pictures, I immediately thought, Me! (Perfect for breastfeeding!, I joked to myself.) An oxford shirt may seem like a boring choice, except that nothing Commission does is boring! This one has a curved front yoke that gives it a vaguely Western feel, and underneath -this is my favorite part - are two rounded slits on either side of the chest. The number one must-have for me this season is their oversized oxford shirt in sky blue. Originally inspired by visions of their mothers in the 1980s and ’90s in South Korea (where Kay is from) and Vietnam (where Cao and Luong are from), they’ve honed in on supremely wearable tailored separates and dresses with special details that are sometimes off-kilter and always thoughtful. I’m a fan of the womenswear vision that designers Dylan Cao, Jin Kay, and Huy Luong have been developing since they began their Commission label in 2018. What that means is I can’t stop thinking about all the fall clothes I fell in love with six months ago and will finally get to wear soon. Though we wouldn’t know it by the sweltering temperatures, September is just around the corner.
